Future aurors will be meeting this week now that the carnival is over. Just to remind everyone, we will be meeting in the library, at seven pm. Do not be late, it's terribly rude, and distracting.
OWLS study groups will also be starting back up, Rabastan and I have discussed this before, and I think we should keep them small. Four to six people to a group, more than that will be distracting. If you would like to join us, then please come see me by lunch tomorrow. If not, then it's your loss, since I know I'll be getting all O's and E's.

Good job Ravenclaw, most of you played quite well. You won't beat Slytherin, but still, good show.
My sister Fiona, the one that is getting married, thought she would write me to inform me that her fiancee bought her a dog. How nice, he thought she would like a jack russel terrier. It's too bad that Fiona told me she would never even want a dog. It seems he doesn't know her at all. Good luck to the both of them.
My sister Mckenna, the useless one, even more so than Isla, is hosting a charity tea party this weekend in Hogsmeade. It's wonderful too bad that it's not a Hogsmeade weekend. I'm sure she'll owl the newspaper clipping on the entire thing. It's good to see she cares so much about dragon displacement.
I will be visiting with my sister Isla, I haven't seen her since the Yule holiday. I tend to avoid family during the school year, I don't care for distractions.

My pajamas are ruined, my dreams have been keeping me up, and I won't be rested for school tomorrow. I can patch myself up, but I can't get back the time I'll waste from being too tired to concentrate.

First day of classes, and I'm completely stressed out. I feel like I forgotten everything I had learned, and I'm convinced that I won't get the scores I need to continue onto NEWTS levels that I need for auror training. Is anyone else worried like this? I feel like I'm the only one completely going insane.
I should have worked harder over break, this is my own fault. I have to catch up, and read ahead in all my classes, no questions asked.

Christmas is family parties. And watching my sister pour over wedding magazines. Picking out colour palettes, and table settings. Perfectly decorated trees, and all the ornaments line up, and there is a theme. Ours is Gold touched Christmas, or at least that's what my mum told me. It's all gilded, and sparking. It's very orginised. There is nothing like orginisation where there could be chaos. Or clutter. I hate clutter.
Even though it's vacation time, I've been working on my OWLS' study schedule. Fiona, even though she's rather busy, has been very nice in helping me prepare. OWLS are the most important test we'll ever take, and just because it's Christmas why throw away valuable time for revision.
I hope your holidays are well, look forward to seeing some of you back at school.

My mother thinks I'm not being social enough here at school. That I'm spending far too much of my time studying for OWLS, and working with my clubs. She would like to see me attend the ball, and has sent some of the dresses that my sister McKenna felt weren't as revealing as she would them to be. I don't think it's at all appropriate for a parent to force a child into attending a dance when they don't feel they would like to. Maybe building a castle with exploding snap cards would be more enjoyable for them. Just a suggestion of course.
I will be wrapping gifts in my dorm room tonight, roommates, if you do come into while I'm working, do try not to peek at me, I really want all your parcels to be a surprise.

I don't care about the dance, the holidays, or anything related to either of these things. I care about the books I'm reading over break, helping my horrid sister plan her lame wedding, and getting my OWLS notes together.

Well, it's finally happened. One of the MacDougal sisters are engaged. Fiona has become engaged to her long term beau, Leonard. They have been dating since their Hogwarts days, and he is on the fast track at the Ministry, which I'm sure she appreciates. We're going to be bridesmaids it seems, and I hope she picks us all something nice. These sorts of things tend to be a little tacky. I'm very pleased for her, I know he'll make her very happy.
This being said, I know that McKenna is furiously looking for a husband of her own. If Fiona has something, McKenna wants something better. I really hope my parents aren't looking for husbands for all of us. My da married for love, his marriage was not arranged, but you never know these days what parents are thinking. I don't even want to get married, I would rather work on my career.
My mum said if my marks are good when I come home for the hols, I can get my very own dog for Christmas. I want a pug, and I'm going to name it Checkers. I don't care that it's not check printed, I just like that name rather. I'm going to make sure all my marks are just right.

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, I love going to the feast, and I always enjoy the trip to Hogsmeade, it's always so lovely this time of year. My sister Fiona told me that muggle children dress up in fancy dress clothes and go around house to house yelling trick or treat for sweets. that's rather amusing. Some of them dress up as green faced witches, I've never seen a green faced witch myself.
I wonder if we would dress up as muggles? How amusing.

My mum sent me a few dresses that were McKenna's, but she didn't like the colours. They're rather low cut, and McKenna said they're very fashionable right now. I think they're a little inappropriate for a fifteen year old myself. I was just going to throw them in my trunk. I don't really have the figure or the bust line for them.
I've started categorising my notes for OWLS, my sister Fiona said she was all ready doing this by the middle of September. I'm a little behind it seems, I'm always behind Fiona. My da said if I get anything lower than an E, he's going to take my summer hols away, and I will be spending my days doing school work. I don't want to lose out on my free time, so I will be starting my studying this weekend.
I really hope we have soup tomorrow in the great hall, I've been craving some cheddar and potato really.

The curfew hasn't really impacted my life in any sort of way, though, the fact we're on lock down makes me a bit perturbed more than anything. Sometimes it's rather nice to get out doors for a walk, even go for a run to relieve tension and expel energy. This school is making me so claustrophobic.

We are at school to learn. Not to spread rumours, to carry on about our own drama, but to learn and prepare ourselves for our futures. It's good to see some of us are still putting education first. I've been working hard to put my notes into categories, which will be easier to use when it comes time for studying for OWLS. Just pointing this out, the fifth year Slytherins are all ready putting together study groups. As always, we're the most prepared house in this school.
Not to say I'm not looking forward to Hogsmeade, I have all ready made plans to go down there with Andromeda. A little fresh air never hurt anyone, and it could help to release some of the tension in the castle. It's so tense, it's practically suffocating in here. How distracting.
My sister McKenna has sent a copy of the Daily Prophet Society page, apparently some party she threw was just so important, it garnered an article. How thrilling for her. Getting in the paper, not for something important she's done. But for throwing a party. She must be so incredibly proud. I on the other hand, read it, and then threw it in the trash where it belonged. I don't have time for her ridiculousness.
I have an essay to write for Potions, the library seems like a fine choice of a location to start it of course.

The gossip going around this school is positively vulgar. We have come here to learn not spread petty rumours, check up on who's snogging who, and generally acting like a fool. I'm just glad to see we're not taking part in such things in Slytherin.
Bellatrix, breakfast the other day was lovely, it's always nice to be in the company of respected and clever minded females. I do hope we can do it again soon.
Meda, I still think we should put together those study groups for OWLS, there is no time like the present to get our school work together. Regulus, Rabastan, I do hope we can count you both in as well.

Congratulations to all my housemates who were invited in the slug club, it's an honour to be recognised for the things you have done to be noticed. You all deserve it.
I was thinking that since we have OWLS this year, us fifth years anyways,we should think about forming some study groups. It's of course important to stay up on our studies, and some of need the best marks they can get. Auror training doesn't just accept anyone, and I really need to get the best scores I can possibly get.
I'm going to go for a run, since the weather is still semi nice, and I really want to keep my endurance up.
